Homemade pasta. We all love pasta. There is actually nothing not to love about it. Any sauce on top and it can put a smile on literally every face out there. But let’s talk about this homemade pasta dough.

It is not a secret that we are in love with Italy and at least once a year are traveling there to feed our soul.

Italy, Rome. There I promised myself I will always try to eat fresh pasta. If not made in our kitchen then at least fresh from supermarket. There is no sauce out there which can taste better than simple fresh sweet al dente pasta. We were avoiding touristic places and were searching for truly classic local places which are usually super loud, especially during lunch. And yes, it all about fresh pasta and family. Sharing the food with your loved ones.

 

In that spirit we got ourselves a new family member. Pasta maker, old school one, no fuss no digital or electronic.

It is not a science fiction, and yes, you need to do it many times to get a almost perfect shape but don’t we do it like that everything in life? Repeat repeat repeat until perfection.

Once you reach a perfect shape and size of pasta, another trick is cooking it. I will tell you a secret, only but really only thing what we ever fight about is how to cook pasta. And long story short I am responsible for cooking it.

Let’s clarify few things. Don’t over salt the water, be gentle with stirring (try not to stir at all) not to break the pasta, save the cup of pasta water to add it in any sauce you are preparing (result is more creamy sauce) and last and most important, do it al dente – undercook and finish it in the sauce.

Now, let’s make pasta!

This homemade pasta dough recipe is made from scratch the Italian way with flour, eggs, olive oil, and salt. Fresh and easy.

Ingredients

  • 600 g Pasta Flour Tipo '00' flour
  • 6 pcs Eggs
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • ½ tsp Salt

Instructions

  • Place the flour and salt into kitchen machine and make a well in the middle of it. Crack in the eggs and add the olive oil
  • Mix it with machine until you have smooth, silky and elastic dough 
  • Cover it with clingfilm and leave it to rest for about half an hour in the fridge before rolling and shaping it
  • Enjoy your BeastFeast!
